Welcome Back Social

Club members enjoyed a wonderful evening at the North Andover Country Club for our Welcome Back Social to kick off our year! Several members created amazing floral centerpieces and everyone appeared to have a great time catching up with one another.  So much gratitude for all our members who continue to strengthen our club with their talent and experience and their enthusiastic participation. Onward to our new club year of learning more about our shared love of gardening and building relationships! â€‹

Patriots Memorial Park

In time for Veterans Day, Pierce Leary, a scout in North Andover's Troop 87 and a high school freshman, installed a new sign at the corner of Main St and Park Way in Patriots Memorial Park as part of his Eagle Scout project. He researched, designed, and wrote the text for the sign and built a handsome, sturdy black wooden stand to support it.  The sign gives a brief history of the WWI, WWII, and Korean/Vietnam Conflicts memorials, the reason for Patriots Memorial Park, and a preview of what is coming next spring/summer, the Global War of Terror monument.  The sign is a handsome, beautifully executed, and educational addition to our park. Congratulations and great job, Pierce!

New Trees Planted

The North Andover Garden Club donated two trees this spring that were orchestrated by the club's Civic Beautification Committee and planted by Dan McMahon and his DPW (Department of Public Works) team.

The first was a native White Oak tree in honor of the country's 250th Birthday and was planted on Monday, April 27th on the town common across from the NA Historical Society.

The second was a Sugar Maple that was planted on May 12th in Patriots Memorial Park by the brand-new benches on the Bradstreet side.  The benches were donated by an out of town donor memorializing his friend.

Special thanks to members Diane Ciuffetti Geis and Leslie Frazier for taking the lead on this!

North Andover Garden Club Plant Sale

THANK YOU to all who purchased perennials at our Plant Sale to make it a big success! We’re very appreciative of all the support for our biggest and only fundraiser. Proceeds go towards many civic beautification projects in town, upkeep of the Parson Barnard garden beds, Garden Therapy programs at our local senior facilities, high school scholarships, horticultural lectures and more. For over 100 hundred years the NAGC has been an active part of the community. Thank you for your support!
